KB in Disable Cricket final despite Azeem’s heroics

Left arm spinner Azeem Qureshi grabbed five wickets but Karachi Blues (KB) stormed into the final of All Karachi Disable Cricket Tournament with a commanding 44-runs victory over Karachi Whites (KW) at Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground on Tuesday.

Right handless, Azeem finished with an excellent figures of five wicket for 41 runs in 12 overs while off-spinner Farooq Khattak grabbed four wickets for 24 runs in 9.2 over to spin out KB for 121 in 34th over. Abdul Rehman top-scored with 31. Sakhi Jan got 28 and Danish Ahmed contributed 20.

KW in reply crashed to 77 allout in 23 overs. Captain Saleem Karim made 16. Ameer Ahmed, whose right handed is affected by polio, captured four wickets for 23 runs with his left arm spin and leg-spinner Danish Ahmed got three wickets for 17 runs.

Abdul Rehman (best batsman), Azeem Qureshi (best bowler), Nadeem Qureshi (best fielder) and Danish Ahmed (man of the match) were given special awards.

KB will now take on Karachi Greens in the final for which date and venue will be decided later.
