KARACHI: Medium pacer Shakeel-ur-Rehman achieved his best bowling figures of 6-28 in First Class cricket as NWFP got an edge over Sindh on day 2 of the Pentangular cricket tournament here at National Stadium.
Shakeel’s devastating spell dented the batting line of the host side as Sindh were bowled out for mere 149 runs facing a first innings deficit of 59 runs.
Naumanullah scored 47 runs to remain the top scorer for the home side, while Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 34.
In Lahore, Pubjab were 219 for one at the end of day two after they bowled out Federal Areas for 383 runs.
Opener Salman Butt and Mohammad Hafeez scored 191 runs for the opening partnership, Hafeez scored 77 while Salman is undefeated on 135.
Earlier Raheel Majeed scored 107 runs to help Federal Areas to post a significant score in the first innings. Spinner, Abdur Rehman of Punjab took four wickets.
