KARACHI: The Pakistan cricket team coach, Geoff Lawson said that a psycho-analyst of sports is needed to improve the performance of the team.
He said that in his opinion, captain Shoaib Malik needs encouragement.
Talking with media at the National Stadium, Karachi after arriving from Sydney on Thursday, Geoff Lawson said that as the coach he is responsible for the performance of the team but the professional are required for bringing an improvement in the performance of the team, particularly, the appointment of a psycho-analyst of sports.
The former Australian fast bowler said Shoaib Malik is a new captain and he needs more chances and encouragement.
He said that in Australia, he has talked with the officials of the Cricket Australia and the Australian players to brief them about the situation in Pakistan but the Australian team’s coming to Pakistan depends on the post-elections situation here.
Lawson said that he wants Australia to tour Pakistan for playing cricket here.
