Bangladesh has postponed a junior cricket team's tour of Pakistan, a cricket official said Friday, amid growing political instability in the emergency-ruled country.
The under-19 squad was scheduled to leave for Karachi on Saturday to play five one-dayers and a four-day match.
"The tour has been postponed after we were advised by our deputy high commissioner in Karachi,"
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive officer Mahmudur Rahman said.
"We are discussing with the Pakistan cricket board to reschedule the tour,"
he said, without saying why it had been postponed.
But the private bdnews24 news agency said the tour was temporarily called off because the BCB wanted better security arrangements for its players in Pakistan, which has been under a state of emergency since November 3.
